Boutique funds management company, Insync Fund Managers, has appointed David Johns as its Business Development Manager.
David has over 25 years’ experience in financial markets across stockbroking and funds management, both international and domestic. He started his career as a stockbroking research analyst, covering mostly industrial stocks with an emphasis on the media and retail sectors.
From there David moved to a research sales role with Nomura Securities, which encompassed the distribution of international direct equities and Nomura Funds Management product to the Australasian client base.
David then spent many years at Bankers Trust Stockbroking, also in a senior sales research role, culminating in him becoming Head of Distribution for the small/mid cap division.
Other institutional stockbroking positions followed with organisations such as BBY, Lodge Partners and Bell Potter. Most recently David focussed on corporate advising, capital raisings and investor relations for small cap companies.
David’s appointment follows the recent hiring of Nitesh Patel as a Senior Investment Analyst and Assistant Portfolio Manager at Insync.
“The new positions reflect the growth of Insync’s business,” said Marcus Tuck, Head of Research & Sales at Insync. “David is a very experienced salesperson who will help us spread the Insync message of high quality global investing with downside protection more widely through the marketplace.”
Insync was founded just over 4 years ago by its CIO, Monik Kotecha. The Global Titans Fund currently has a ‘5 star’ rating from Morningstar in the category of ‘Equity World Large Growth’ based on its risk-adjusted returns. A positive full due-diligence review of Insync has been done by the fund research group, Australian Fund Monitors.
