While 2017 certainly was a super year with the biggest changes to superannuation in ten years coming into effect on 1 July. The changes prompted a flurry of activity as advisers sought to ensure readiness of their clients for the new world of super.
SUPERCentral, the independent online SMSF deed and automated update service provider, saw an influx of advisers use their bulk conversion program to place all their trustees on the online automatic update service, but according to them the movement was not driven entirely by the super changes.
“Advisers are opting for innovative technology solutions that enable them to work smarter. First and foremost, solutions that allow their SMSF trustees to continuously remain SIS compliant and safeguarded against potential legal, tax problems and associated penalties, while simultaneously achieving time/opportunity cost savings and most importantly mitigating their risk,” said Nikki Rivers, Chief Operating Officer of SUPERCentral.
“As 2018 unfolds this trend is continuing – adopting well-informed compliance solutions that enable advisers to concentrate on cultivating deeper client relationships, which in turn grows their practice.”
“Our bulk conversion program and online SMSF services support advisers in achieving just that by giving them seamless steps to compliance,” said Ms Rivers.
