Our People

Christopher Hocking, Director

Chris’s 20+ years in financial communications has included several years of directly working in financial planning and discussing financial service with people.

That is rare in public relations, as is being fully qualified as a financial planner.

Since mid 2005, he has been running Chris Hocking Strategies with Diane.

Earlier, he had spent nine years as Head of Corporate Affairs at AM Corporation – provided communication advice, ran active/structured media campaigns and proactive issues management. During this time he developed his Brand Manual.

When AM was acquired by IOOF, Chris was responsible for the transition communication activities to media, financial planners and staff.

Previously, he was National Public Relations Manager at Coopers & Lybrand where he ran national communication strategy for all offices and internal industry groups. Chris managed the firm’s crisis strategy during C&L’s administration of Pyramid Building Society.

Before starting Chris Hocking Strategies, he completed an Advanced Diploma in Financial Services (Fin. Planning).

Chris holds certificates in marketing (AIM), superannuation (ASFA) and SMSF Practice (Tower) and studied for a BA (ANU) and Graduate Diploma in Applied Economics (University of Canberra).

Diane Hocking, Director

She is responsible for editing and story development at Chris Hocking Strategies. Diane won the State medal in her final year of the Certificate of Public Relations at Sydney TAFE.
